WETT represents Western University in The Great Northern Concrete Toboggan Race (GNCTR). GNCTR is an annual event that challenges engineering students across Canada, and occasionally the United States and Europe, to design and construct a toboggan with a metal frame and concrete running surface.
Every year, WETT reimagines the toboggan to conform to ever-changing competition constraints and to build upon previous year’s learnings. We pride ourselves in our ability to conceptualize, design, construct, and test our toboggan in just eight months. The structure of the team provides ample learning opportunities in a variety of fields for our members, and we strive to ensure our team members gain tangible experience no matter their experience or knowledge level.
